Dispensary Opening Times

The Surgery has its own Dispensary, manned by qualified Dispensers.

The Dispensary is open at the following times:

The dispensary is able to dispense prescriptions issued during surgery consultations to patients who live further than one mile from any chemist. We also dispense to temporary residents.

If you leave a message regarding any medication queries, please allow 72 working hours for this to be dealt with. 

Please do not leave any medication requests unless prior arrangements have been made. 

We recommend you sign up to the Patients Services to order all repeat medication online.  To do this, please contact reception who will advise you on the procedure.

Please use this number for all enquiries concerning medication. Dispensers will liaise with patients own Doctor where necessary. Please do not use this number to order your repeat medication.

All repeat prescriptions will be processed within 72hrs (working days).

When We Are Closed

If you need to speak to a doctor urgently outside opening hours, you should telephone 0118 933 2436 and listen to the recorded message. You will be advised to telephone either the Doctors Answering Service or the NHS 111 out of hours organisation. You will be put in touch with a duty doctor or nurse.

Any routine or non urgent problem which realistically can wait until 8.00 am should be left until after this time.

NHS Direct (111)

In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS 111 (111) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Please note - the opening times may change daily and at short notice due to staffing issues.  The staff apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you wish to raise your concerns regarding this, please do it with the Pharmacy staff direct and not the reception staff as the Pharmacy is a separate business, although located within the surgery.
