GP TRAINING

Mortimer is a village 5 miles north of Basingstoke and 10 minutes drive from the M4 and M3. We are set amongst beautiful Berkshire countryside surrounded by the estates of the Duke of Wellington and the Benyon family. We have 7 partners, 4 full time and 3 part time, caring for the needs of 11,000 patients. We are an enthusiastic training practice with a long history of training. We have two trainers (Dr Rock and Dr Strang) with a further partner (Dr Bradshaw) presently doing the Diploma of Medical Education after which he also will become a trainer. All partners enjoy and are actively involved in teaching. We provide a relaxed and informal environment in which the registrar becomes an integral member of the team whilst still having the protected time and encouragement to further his/her education. The Registrar will have their own dedicated consulting room with excellent access to IT, secretarial support and the Primary Health Care Team. We are integrally involved in the care of our local hospice and as a result comprehensive training will be provided in palliative care.
