Dr Strang was born in Northumberland, educated at Shrewsbury School and qualified in 1981 at the Royal Free Hospital of Medicine in London, spending three months in outback Australia working with the Flying Doctor service. Following House jobs in London, he worked in Cornwall for 18 months on a Medical Registrar rotation, subsequently deciding upon a career in General Practice. He trained under the Windsor Vocational Training Scheme for three years which included a nine month sabbatical, working as a Medical Officer for Save the Children Fund in Southern Sudan at the time of the Ethiopian Famine in 1985. He has been a Partner in Mortimer since 1987 and was appointed a Trainer for General Practice in 1993 and has supervised the training of Registrars in the Practice since that time.
Over the last eighteen months he has developed an interest in Clinical Trial Research, undertaking a number of trials in a variety of therapeutic areas and hopes to continuing expanding this. Recently Christopher has helped set up the Practice Website and in his free time is rumoured to play the occasional game of golf! He is married to Fiona, a senior marketing executive and has two teenage children, Emily and Sophie. Although Christopher has a wide range of interests within family medicine, including the research topics that have been undertaken, he has special interest in Dermatology, Migraine and Terminal Care.
