CHILD HEALTH

All children should have protection against Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hib, Meninigitis C, Pneumococcal infection, Measles, Mumps and Rubella disease.

 
The immunisation clinic operates on Thursdays alternating mornings and afternoons on an appointment system. For details of this clinic please ask your Health Visitor or at the surgery reception.

The programme is as follows:
When to immunise Diseases protected against
Two months old Diphtheria,Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hib and Pneumococcal infection
Three months old Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hib and Meninigitis C
Four months old Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hib, Meninigitis C and Pneumococcal infection
Around 12 months Hib and Meninigitis C
Around 13 months Measles, Mumps and Rubella and Pneumoccal infection
3½ - 5 years Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Measles, Mumps and Rubella disease
Thirteen to eighteen years old Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio


Immunisation Clinics
The doctors perform a full check on babies at 6-8 weeks (this is done in conjunction with the mother's post natal examination) and at 8-9 months.
The Health Visitors are available at clinic and at Mortimer Surgery for any concerns regarding child health. Please refer to your red book.
Any referrals necessary are made and concerns identified are followed up.

Development Checks
